Case Study: Robotic Total Station (RTS) Site Applications

In this video, ENG and Bunkley Electric demonstrate how the integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Robotic Total Station (RTS) technology can improve construction efficiency. They showcase their application of these technologies on-site at the Abilene Christian University project.

ENG has developed a tool within Revit that extracts coordinates from the BIM model, which can be used with almost all RTS stations. The architectural background reference and point data are supplied in CAD and CSV formats, respectively. These inputs are then used to calibrate the RTS equipment and control points.

By combining advanced robotics with innovative technology, RTS helps contractors streamline their workflow and reduce project timelines. With its high accuracy and speed, RTS points layout eliminates the need for manual measurements, reducing the risk of errors. This saves valuable time and money and ensures that the construction process is completed to the highest standards of quality and precision.

BIM and RTS have become essential tools for contractors across the industry, transforming the construction process for all stakeholders. By reducing rework and waste and improving project efficiency, BIM and RTS are changing the game for construction professionals.

Watch this video to learn about the benefits of RTS site applications as an efficient way to perform layout tasks on the construction site and how they can help take your construction projects to the next level.
