Advancing Data Centre Construction Canada 2026 Recap: ENG in Calgary

ENG exhibited at the first Advancing Data Center Construction Canada, held October 6 to 8, 2026, at the Ramada Wyndham Calgary in Alberta. It was also ENG’s first industry event in Canada. The summit brought together hyperscalers, developers, contractors, designers, and utilities to discuss how Canada will deliver its next wave of data centers.

Canada’s Data Center Market Is Moving to Execution

Organizers describe Canada as an emerging strategic data center hub. They expect the market to double over the next five years. The program opened with a pre-conference workshop day on grid constraints, interim power, and energy availability. The two conference days then covered delivery topics such as:

  • End-user requirements. A keynote panel with CORE Data Centres, Microsoft, and EllisDon discussed project plans in a sovereignty-first regulatory environment.
  • Prefabrication and modularization. Arcadis presented a case study on scaling prefab to reduce dependence on on-site construction.
  • Early scope definition. Yondr explained how locking specifications early and standardizing design inputs across repeat builds reduces rework.

These sessions point to one requirement. Prefab, repeat builds, and fast-track schedules all depend on a coordinated model that the shop and field can build from. ENG delivers that model on data center projects.

ENG’s Team in Calgary

Jay Berryhill, Chief Revenue Officer, and Ivor Tafro, Enterprise Account Executive, represented ENG on the exhibition floor at booth 7. Their main takeaway was clear. Data center development in Canada is accelerating, and many project teams are already preparing for large-scale builds.

Build-Ready BIM for Data Center Projects

ENG supports data center contractors and owners with MEP coordination, prefabrication deliverables, and flexible VDC capacity for fast-track schedules. At Advancing Electrical Prefabrication 2026, ENG showed how standardization on a data center project compressed more than 3,700 spools into fewer than 400 sheets.
